In Hemathurgy, I explore the silent language that unfolds within us every moment—the communication between our blood cells and the countless microscopic organisms that make up who we are. This work is part of my reflection on how little we often understand the systems that sustain us, even though they’re constantly speaking to us in their own way.

The painting depicts various blood cells: red blood cells flowing like rivers, carrying oxygen to every corner of the body; white blood cells, shapeshifting defenders against threats we’ll never see; and platelets, small yet vital, managing the delicate process of healing. These cellular forms are intertwined with the figure of a human, not as a separate entity but as part of a larger cosmic network. The veins and vessels extend like constellations, connecting the microcosm within us to the vastness of the universe beyond.

Through this piece, I wanted to reflect on the idea that we are not just individuals but living ecosystems—a colony of human cells coexisting with trillions of microbes, all engaged in constant communication. By tuning into this internal language, we can cultivate a deeper awareness of our bodies and perhaps live more in sync with what they’re trying to tell us. Hemathurgy is my way of visualizing that connection, where biology and the cosmos mirror each other in complexity and beauty.
